For the past few weeks, I’ve been searching for a new topic to discuss on Engaging the Patient.
I wanted to write about a new perspective of patient engagement – something beyond what is typically discussed.
This being the last week of my summer internship at Emmi Solutions, I had nearly lost hope until I stumbled upon an article about the Affordable Care Act and how it may test patients’ loyalty to their physicians.
According to the article, approximately one third of consumers will change physicians if it means saving money on a cheaper insurance plan.
I can’t say that I was entirely surprised by this statistic, but what does that mean for health plans?
And what’s going to happen when consumers get on these new health exchanges?
